KAWS Along the Way (Black) is a vinyl sculpture featuring the artist’s iconic Companion character. This version depicts one Companion comforting another in a one-armed embrace. It gives the impression of supporting a suffering friend, or someone in deep distress. Through this sculpture, the artist seeks to convey values of mutual aid and compassion toward others. The work is a small-scale version of the over 5-meter-tall wooden sculpture ALONG THE WAY (2013), which was temporarily exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum in 2015.
