KAWS:HOLIDAY Taipei Companion (Black) is a vinyl version of artist KAWS’s iconic character, Companion, depicted in a seated, resting position. It was created to commemorate the debut of one of KAWS’s largest sculptural works: a 36-meter-long Companion installed at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei.
In collaboration with the studio AllRightsReserved, the project titled “KAWS:HOLIDAY” was exhibited from January 19 to 27, 2019, accompanied by a range of exclusive merchandise that sold out immediately.
This temporary exhibition greatly contributed to increasing the artist’s visibility in Taiwan and was a resounding popular success.
