KAWS Holiday Singapore depicts a lying Companion character, an iconic figure in KAWS’s artistic production, with a miniature child version of the Companion resting on top. The work is inspired by KAWS’s own temporary installation, 13 meters long, which was displayed on the platform of the Marina Bay commercial complex in Singapore in 2018. This installation significantly contributed to increasing the artist’s recognition in Southeast Asia. Both the original sculpture and the figurine clearly symbolize the bond between parents and their children.
