This piece is a miniature version of the 18-meter-tall monumental sculpture installed by KAWS at Sanam Luang, Bangkok, in May 2025. The work features his iconic character, the famous “COMPANION”, a recurring figure in KAWS’s art, instantly recognizable by its crossed-out eyes and white gloves.
Seated on planet Earth, the giant COMPANION cradles the Moon in its arms, in a posture that evokes protection, contemplation, and transmission. Resting on its knees is a smaller version of itself, likely its child, in a pose of innocent, attentive listening.
This tender yet metaphysical scene symbolizes intergenerational connection and the emotional and spiritual legacy we pass on to future generations.
