Glass paste in original blister, by street artist Invader
Dimensions: 18 x 24 cm
Numbered out of 150 copies
Distributed through Invader’s Space Shop in 2009, Invasion Kit #10 (Invader Kit number 10, IK10, or "Paris") exists in 150 numbered but unsigned copies, as well as 30 numbered and signed copies. It is made of ceramic tiles. This kit is a replica of the mosaic installed in Paris, PA_799 (or it may be that PA_799 is one of these kits).
Starting in the year 2000, the international street artist Invader began selling ready-to-use invasion kits on his website.
These are pre-assembled mosaics, made up of around one hundred tiles, packaged in protective anti-static bags, ready to be installed anywhere one wishes. The original intention was to allow anyone to take part in the invasion, enabling everyone to have an Invader piece at home, in their street, or on their building. The kits even display the phrase “Bonne invasion.”
However, because these invasion kits were produced in limited quantities, each with a unique identifying number—and some even signed by the artist—they quickly became collectible items whose value has continued to rise, especially over the past four or five years. As a result, very few of them have actually been installed in public spaces and they now belong mostly to private collections.
