The Lamborghini Miura, produced between 1966 and 1973, is considered the first true supercar in history. Conceived by a team of young, visionary engineers, including Gian Paolo Dallara, and designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, it revolutionized the automobile with its mid-rear-mounted V12 engine—a first for a road car. Its sculptural design, sensual lines and retractable headlights make it an aesthetic icon of the 1960s. Available in several versions (P400, P400 S and P400 SV), the Miura develops up to 385 horsepower, allowing it to reach more than 280 km/h, spectacular performance for the time. Produced in only 764 units, it is today an extremely coveted collector's item. A true work of art on wheels, the Miura symbolizes the audacity and exuberance of Lamborghini, while having laid the foundations for the design and philosophy of modern supercars.
