This screen print by Shepard FAIREY aims to raise awareness about the dangers of hydraulic fracturing, a highly polluting oil extraction technique primarily used in North America. “Open Minds” (2022) is a work in which Fairey celebrates the power of free thought and intellectual curiosity. The composition features a stylized portrait, often accompanied by geometric and decorative motifs that reinforce the idea of openness and reflection. True to his political poster–inspired aesthetic, Fairey uses a palette of reds, blues, and cream tones to create an image that is both striking and harmonious. The message encourages rejecting prejudice and embracing a diversity of ideas. Through this work, OBEY reaffirms his commitment to an enlightened and conscious society.
