Inkjet on aluminum panel, by artist JR
Dimensions: 96 x 64 cm

Numbered: 199/580

In this ephemeral installation, contemporary artist JR transforms the Trocadéro esplanade into a gigantic plunging chasm facing the Eiffel Tower. Using a monumental photographic collage, he creates the illusion of steep cliffs emerging from the Parisian ground. The artwork invites the public to walk over the apparent void, playing with perception and vertigo. As is often the case with JR, visitor participation is an integral part of the creation. This poetic intervention questions the boundary between reality and fiction at the heart of an iconic location.
