The sculpture Crocodile by Richard Orlinski, created in 2004, marks the beginning of his artistic career. Made of glossy red resin, it depicts a crocodile with its mouth open, symbolizing raw strength and resilience. This work is part of the Born Wild series, in which Orlinski explores the transformation of primal instincts into positive emotions. The geometric facets, characteristic of his style, give the animal a contemporary and dynamic appearance. The crocodile, capable of surviving natural disasters and ice ages, embodies power and adaptability—themes dear to the artist. This sculpture was exhibited in front of the Hôtel Normandy in Deauville, attracting attention from personalities such as Andy Garcia, and has become an iconic piece of Orlinski’s work.
