JR

JR is a French photographer and artist born in 1983. He is known for his monumental black and white photographic collages displayed on walls around the world. His art, straddling street art and social photography, gives a voice to the anonymous, bringing to light forgotten faces and stories. Through projects like Inside Out or Face2Face, he addresses themes such as identity, justice, and collective memory. A collaborator of Agnès Varda in Faces, Places, JR transforms public space into an engaged, accessible, and universal gallery.
